"Sowing to harvest" is the universal principle of this African calculation game which has existed for over 1000 years. The awélé belongs to the large family of sowing games present throughout Africa, but also on the coasts of the Indian Ocean and Latin America. At the start of the game, the two players each have 24 seeds in 6 boxes, seeds which they will sow one by one by drawing from their boxes. The catches are made in the boxes which contain only one or two seeds. The object of the game is to collect more seeds than your opponent. Easy to learn, quick to play, the Awélé proves to be a wonderful pastime with tactical and strategic depths that are completely fun.
